Terms of Service

Agreement to terms

By accessing or using hireshep.com ("the Site") or purchasing services from Shep, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Site or services. "Shep," "we," and "us" refer to Jon Sheppard, the sole operator.

Services

Shep provides managed website development, content creation, SEO, and related digital marketing services. The specific deliverables, timelines, and scope for paying customers are defined in each customer's service agreement or subscription plan.

Accounts and access

When you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at jon@hireshep.com.

Payment and billing

Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges at the rate shown at checkout. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods.

Intellectual property

• Your content. You own the content you provide to us (logos, copy, images, business information). You grant us a license to use it solely to deliver your services.
• Work we create for you. Website code, content, and designs we create for paying customers become your property upon payment. We may retain the right to use the work in our portfolio unless you opt out.
• Our stuff. The Shep brand, website design, and proprietary tools remain ours.

Acceptable use

Don't use the Site or services to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe on anyone's intellectual property
• Distribute malware or attempt to compromise our systems
• Scrape, crawl, or automated-access the Site beyond normal use
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation

Limitation of liability

Shep is a one-person operation using AI tools to deliver services. We do our best, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service, zero bugs, or specific business outcomes. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Disclaimer

Services are provided "as is." We make no warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Termination

Either party can end the relationship at any time. You can cancel your subscription from your dashboard or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice when practical.

Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we'll notify customers via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Utah.
